Die Stechpalme ist ein immergrüner Baum oder Strauch mit harten, glänzenden Blättern und Dornen. Sie trägt leuchtend rote Beeren. Der Stamm hat eine glatte graue Rinde und kann bis zu 20 m hoch werden. Sie wächst an Hecken und in Wäldern. Die kleinen 4-blättrigen, weiß bis zart rosa gefärbten Blüten haben einen süßen Duft. In der Bachblütentherapie wird Holly eingesetzt bei Ärger, Neid, Reizbarkeit, Wut, generell negative Stimmungen, Aggression, Hassgefühlen, Rachsucht, Misstrauen, Eifersucht, Gewalttätigkeit, Hitzigkeit, und bei allen cholerischen Ausbrüchen.
