Buchen sind sommergrüne Bäume mit glatter, grauer Rinde. Das Holz ist rötlich gefärbt, der Wuchs sehr gerade und aufrecht. Die Ausstrahlung der Buche vermittelt Strenge und Klarheit. Buchen kommen häufig in Laub - und Mischwäldern vor. In der Bachblütentherapie wird Beech eingesetzt bei Intoleranz, Zynismus, inneren Spannungen, bei Schulmeisterei, wenn psychischer Druck auf andere ausüben wird, bei Reizbarkeit, Kritiksucht und Nörgelei. Im transformierten Zustand steht Beech für Toleranz, Verständnis, Offenheit und Einfühlungsvermögen. The leaves of beech trees are entire or sparsely toothed, from 5–15 cm long and 4–10 cm broad. The flowers are small single-sex, the female flowers borne in pairs, the male flowers wind-pollinated catkins, produced in spring shortly after the new leaves appear.
